Great American
The Great American Award is not given to students, rather, it is earned by students, and is completely voluntary. Below are the 8 requirements for earning the Great American Award. If students pass off 6 or 7 of the requirements, they can earn the Grand American Award.
These requirements can only be passed off by a teacher.
1. Match the 50 states and capitals.
2. Identify the 50 states on a map.
3. Recite from memory the Gettysburg Address.
4. Recite from memory, in order of Presidency, the Presidents of the United States, first and last names.
5. Write the Pledge of Allegiance from memory. All spelling and punctuation must be correct, and cursive handwriting is required.
6. Sing or recite from memory the first verse of the Star- Spangled Banner.
7. Recite from memory the Preamble of the United States Constitution.
8. Correctly answer the questions on the Citizenship Test.
